LIFT Training

WVU Medicine has committed to be a minimal lift facility, reducing manual patient handling to 35 pounds or less. In order to facilitate safe patient mobility, in compliance with hospital policy, the LIFT program was established. To provide consistent and high level education, hands on classroom learning is provided for all patient care employees. Classes vary based upon job role and employment site.

All employees should complete a LIFT Training class (appropriate to their job role) by December 31, 2018.

As of March 15, 2018, the 600-lb Repositioning Sheet for the Maxi Sky 2/Maxi Sky 2+ has been approved for out of bed use.
